FAQs
These are the answers to questions we are frequently asked. If you need to know anything else please ask.
What do I need to hire a vehicle?
- Drivers will need to produce their plastic driving licence card, or older style green/pink paper licence.
- Plus their National Insurance number.
- Plus two forms of ID confirming your current home address no greater than 3 months old, such as utilities bill/bank statement/council tax bill/phone bill.
What are your driver qualifications?
- Drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 78 years.
- Driver must have held a full drivers license for more than three years. Certain endorsements may be accepted at the insurance company’s discretion.
Only those drivers authorised at the commencement of the hire are permitted to drive the vehicle. No other person can drive the hire vehicle without the advanced permission of YES Vehicle Rental.
What is included in the standard tariff costs?
- All prices include VAT and vehicle insurance.
- Fuel is not included. Mileage allowances and charges are available on request.

Is roadside assistance included?
- All vehicles are covered for roadside assistance. Most roadside assistance services will only cover manufacture based or mechanical faults on your hire vehicle. But it does not cover certain self-induced faults such as the use of incorrect fuel, lost keys, stolen keys, or instances where keys have been locked inside the vehicle. Most roadside services will arrange assistance if requested, but the responsibility of paying for the assistance will be down to you, the hirer.
What is CDW – Collision Damage Waiver?
- All vehicles are fully insured, a copy of the insurance policy is available for inspection on request. Certain terms and conditions apply to this policy, which are available on request. The policy does carry an uninsurable excess, this is liable to change at the insurance company’s discretion.
- ‘Excess protection’ to lower the standard excess is available.
- CDW does not cover: Damage to any glass, wing mirrors, hub caps, wheels, tyres including punctures, inside trim, damage to over head height on commercial vehicles & minibuses.
What is your fuel policy?
- Our fuel policy is “like for like”.
- Any vehicle returned with less fuel than we supplied will be topped up as necessary, and the charge taken from the deposit.
- We are unable to refund any vehicle returned with more fuel than supplied with.
Is there a charge for weekend drop offs & collections?
Yes. Weekend out of hours drop offs & collections (1pm Saturday to 8am Monday) are subject to an additional charge.
Can the rental period be extended?
- The rental may only be extended by prior arrangement before the initial period of rental expires and a further pre-payment will be required. Not doing so may render void the insurance cover provided.
- Any rental over four weeks is liable to different tariff’s and terms & conditions, which are available on request.
Can I take the vehicle outside the UK?
All vehicles are for UK use only. Certain restrictions on use are at the insurance companies discretion.
Can I take a pet in the vehicle?
Any form of Pet or Animal is not allowed in any of our vehicles. Your deposit is at risk as a cleaning fine if this rule is broken on.
What if the vehicle I requested is not available?
Whilst every effort is made to provide the vehicle requested or reserved, it may be necessary to substitute and alternative due to unforeseen circumstances.
What is your cancellation policy?
Minimum notice period of cancellation is 24 hours on all bookings. The rental charge will apply for all cancellations within 24 hours.
